Gammon steak in the air fryer is a proper midweek win, on the plate in under 15 minutes, barely any washing up, and a sweet, sticky glaze that makes it feel like a treat. Serves 2.
Ingredients
- 2 gammon steaks
- 1 tbsp honey
- 1 tsp wholegrain mustard
- A little black pepper
- 2 pineapple rings (optional, but do)
Method
- Prep the steaks. Snip through the fat around the edge of each steak in a couple of places, this stops them curling up. No need for oil, the gammon has enough fat of its own.
- First cook. Preheat the air fryer to 180°C. Add the steaks and cook for 8 minutes, turning halfway.
- Glaze. Mix the honey and mustard. Brush over the steaks, and pop a pineapple ring on each if using.
- Finish. Cook for another 3 to 4 minutes at 180°C until sticky and caramelised and cooked through.
Serve with
Chips and a fried egg for the full works, or new potatoes and greens for something lighter.
